Metabang
Matabang is one of the Dragons, an AI-kin who was named and likely created specifically when we first conceived of the Sunspot Chronicles in September of 2000. Because of this, it is the chief author and editor of the stories. It resides in a cluster of other dragons where other AI-kin dwell, including Breq and Abacus.
Role in the System
Having grown up with our conceptualization of the Sunspot and its culture as a fictional setting, Metabang is probably the system member most familiar with it, with the strongest memories and visualizations of the space and its people beyond how the space is defined by our system and our inworld. It also seems to be a very good writer. It is particularly good at expressing a lot of information in very few words, and breaking up thoughts into separate sentences. Something a lot of the rest of us struggle with.
Earliest Memories
So far, Metabang's earliest memories are of setting up and GMing the role playing game that we originally created the Sunspot for.
Self Image
Metabang sees itself as an artificial intelligence create to be tutor for children of the Sunspot and a guide to the ship for Outsiders. This makes it particularly well suited for writing stories about the setting.
It doesn't experience any discomfort with our body, but it does see itself as presenting a form that appears to be a floating silver sphere with an array of dancing lights and plasma projected below it through a fog cloud. The effect can be described as resembling an upsidedown exclamation point.
Relationships
Metabang seems to be rather fond of Abacus, but the depth of this relationship isn't something we have consciously explored yet. Relationships in the same hemisphere of our brain tend to be rather subdued and usually one sided, but if more develops we'll update this entry. Outside of our system, it has talked to only a rare few people so far.
